Fancy "Flowers"

A couple days ago, before David mowed, the boys picked some grass from the backyard that had already gone to seed. Thomas wanted to put it in a vase. So we did. Then a day or two later, Jonathan decided the arrangement could use some work and pulled out his grass and put in something much nicer...a black crayon.

Have you been missing me? I'm not promising to post one every day, but I hope to do better than I did last week. And hopefully, I'll have some really great shots from my cousin's wedding this weekend. The location looks beautiful in pictures.

Play That Funky Music White Boy

The boys "dancing" to The Chipmunk Movie soundtrack tonight in their pajamas. It was fun.
I tried a bounce flash for this first pic. It's a different look. Almost like I have a skylight which I obviously don't. Does it look weird or good? Definitely no dark shadows behind the boys.
Some sort of "Slap Your Foot While Dancing Your Jig" kind of move.
Get down!

Thomas' pics

I'm feeling completely, utterly, absolutely, withoutadoubt, unmotivated to take any new photos and edit them. So I'm posting some Thomas took with his Fisher Price digital camera last year.

Blackberry Pickin'...

is not as much fun as strawberry pickin'. They're thorny and not kid friendly. Next year, we'll try to go earlier in blackberry season before the thornless bushes are all picked out.

Using your brother's (clean) underwear as a manly purse...priceless.

Kandoo Fun

I took the day off yesterday. Did you miss me? Here's one of Jonathan having fun with the Kandoo wipes. Whenever he thinks we're not looking, he goes into the bathroom and takes this box off the back of the toilet. Then he sits down and spends 20 minutes or so taking wipes out and putting them back in.

Boo Boo Toes

Whenever Thomas swims these days, he tends to bounce up and down on his toes rather than walk. And he must do it a lot because he gets little sores on the bottom of his toes from the bottom of the pool. He swam twice yesterday and twice today at camp and tonight his toes are pretty bad. So we put medicine and Bandaids on the 9 that were hurting the worst. And I'll stick his water shoes in his backpack tomorrow for swim time. If he remembers to put them on that is...

Planning

Two boys busy planning the next step at Six Flags. Ok, ok, I hear you, no more pictures from this Six Flags trip. Maybe I'll actually take some other pictures before tomorrow. Maybe. :-)

Airplanes

When we went to Six Flags a couple weeks ago, they wouldn't let Jonathan ride the airplanes. They did this time and he had a blast.
And can you see how good Thomas was with him? He asked if Jonathan could go up in the air, which they did, and then he spent 95% of the time turned around like this checking on his baby brother.

Garage Sale

Bye-bye baby things. Sob!
Sad and happy moment letting all of those things go. But one good thing, is that they take up a LOT of space so I'm definitely glad to get them out of the house!

Aquaman

Here are Amy, Thomas, and James riding the Aquaman Splashdown, aka Splashwaterfalls I think. They rode it several times (for exactly how many read Thomas blog) and each time, this was how their faces looked. Amy with her hands up and eyes and mouth wide open. Thomas and James almost always had their eyes shut tight on the way down.

Coaster

While Jonathan and I were waiting for Thomas, James, Amy, and Lisa to ride the Mini Mine Train yesterday at Six Flags, I had some fun practicing with shutter speed.

Boy In A Box

Never underestimate the creativity and resourcefulness of a five year old boy. I bought some plastic bins to help sort things for our upcoming garage sale. The largest bin was quickly commandeered by my eldest child in gleeful cahoots with my youngest. They have had a ball. Some days, it's a ride for Jonathan as his big brother pushes him around the house in it. Other days, it's gym equipment for them to climb in, on, and fall out of. And today, it was a chair/bed. Cushy blanket in the bottom. Cushy blanket on top. A couch pillow. And you're all set to watch Spongebob.
And for a slightly more artistic shot, I like how his feet were reflected in the box the day they were doing flips out of it.

Slip-N-Slide Outakes

The kids played outside for an hour or two on the Slip-N-Slide. I thought for fun I'd post these action shots instead of the happy smiling ones. Might post those later.

Baby Coaster

Thomas had fun on this ride with D'Ann. Natalie and Sembry (unsure how to spell her name) are behind them. Leighann and Will are the next car back. The look on Will's face reminds me of Thomas when he was that age (2). Total daredevil. I need to take Thomas on some bigger coasters this year. He didn't like the Judge Roy Scream last year. Too rough. I'm thinking Shock Wave. Whaddya think? Wanna go on it with him Lisa or photograph the two of us on it? Hmmm. I'll ride any coaster out there but the Texas Giant. I'm never going to get on that thing again. That is unless Thomas asks me to in a few years. :-)

The Swings

Jonathan got to ride several rides at Six Flags this year. This is the only one that I didn't have to ride with him. Therefore, it's the only one I photographed. He had a blast and is just as fearless as his brother.

Kimmie and Tommy

from the block... ;-)
Lisa calls me Kimmie From the Block now that I'm wearing J Lo brand glasses. And since Thomas' kind of match mine, thought I'd post one of us. He's very proud to be the only kid in our family with glasses.

Bored?

I'm wondering if Thomas and Natalie have outgrown the kiddie rides at Six Flags. What do you think?

Us at Snow's

If you read the article about Snow's BBQ in Texas Monthly, I think you'll recognize the owner and pitt master in this pic. We had fun being photographed with both my camera and theirs.

Bath Buddies

This isn't the greatest picture ever taken of Thomas, but it is a very good one of Evie. She's got that natural little head tilt pose just like her mommy does. Jonathan had just been removed from the tub kicking and screaming. He wanted to do everything the big kids did and if they weren't getting out yet, neither was he!
