Fish Food

We took the boys to feed the fish the day we went to the lake. I really like feeding the koi at the Japanese Water Gardens. But these fish? These fish just gross me out. But all three of my boys, hubby included, loved it. I liked this capture with the bread mid-air.

Hodge Podge

One of the things Thomas enjoys at David's folks house is all the things they have to keep a little boy busy. Wanda let him dump out this bucket of...stuff...and let him create to his heart's content.

Racing For Home

While we were in Lubbock, we went to go see my cousin Jeremy's son, Kasen, play t-ball. He's a natural athlete and it was fun watching him play. If he's this good at four, what will he be like in 10 or 20 years? In this play, he was playing pitcher, caught the ball, and raced the third base runner home. Do you think he caught him in time?
On a photographic note, I was having too much fun chatting with my family in the stands to get down by the field for better photos. That's why the fence is in the shot. I couldn't decide between cropping the fence out which would have removed the runner's legs or leave it as it was. Opinions? I know you've got them. :-)

Snake Boy

We went to the zoo yesterday with an old friend of mine from elementary school. Normally, you'd never catch me at the zoo when it's 100 degrees outside, but for her I made an exception. The snakes were VERY active yesterday. Guess they like the heat. This snake really liked Jonathan and vice versa. Everything isn't exactly in focus, but you get the picture.

Snail

Thomas spent some of his time in Lubbock collecting snails. Wanda's job was to walk behind him carrying the bucket to put the snails in.

More Windmill Farm

Another photo of the windmill farm. Different orientation. Maybe even the same red car.

No more windmill photos tomorrow. :-)

Reflection

Took this today at Joe Pool Lake. Thomas and David "fished" for a little while. By that I mean they cast out several times and changed lures a couple times and then Thomas was ready to do something else. We also swam at the beach afterwards. Next time, I think they're going by themselves and Jonathan and I will just meet them for the swiming part. All in all a fun time. Might post some fishing pics this week. We'll have to see what pics jump out at me tomorrow wanting to be posted.

Windmill Farm

The boys and I are back from our exciting vacation in Lubbock. Woo hoo! I did get some neat pics though. Here's the first. I stopped on the side of the road to take this one. It's amazing to see how big those things are close-up. Dale said that each one of those windmills cost at least a million bucks. It would be fun to have the time to experiment with longer shutter speeds sometime. But not when you're a woman on the side of the highway alone with a baby.

I'm on Vacation

I'm sure you (my few faithful readers and infrequent commentors--that last part doesn't apply to Lisa) have figured this out already since I haven't posted anything in several days but I'm out of town and won't be posting anything new until at least Friday, more likely Saturday. Don't miss me too much! ;-)

Beach Wishing

Just sitting here in hot Texas wishing I was back by this pool in Turks and Caicos.

Circle buddies

Jonathan just learned how to turn circles and as you can see, he's having a ball doing them with his big brother. Here they are all dressed up for the wedding, turning circles, with their obsessive mommy going "Don't fall down and get your clothes dirty already!"

Lisa, this pic is for you since I know how you LOVE, or not, those manly capris of his. ;-)

Settings weren't spot on for this shot, but oh well.

Important Photo Tip Here

When handing over your sophisticated digital SLR camera to someone who isn't as into photography as you, always switch it to Auto first. Doesn't matter if you've set the exposure exactly how you want in Manual mode if the person taking your photograph doesn't focus on your rarely-dressed-nicely family. All she had to do was point it straight at us and snap, but instead she angled the camera over to the birds on the right, unintentionally focused on them, and clicked. In Auto, it would have focused on us too but when in Manual mode, I like to have just one focus point and in this case, it was in the center...the birds. Usually one focus point isn't a problem...but it was this time. Love you anyway Mom! Thanks for trying!!

Lake Boy

Jonathan on his way down the path to the lake on Saturday. He loves the water, but not his life jacket. After swimming about 30 minutes, he started fussing and I asked if he wanted to keep swimming or get out. He looked down at his life jacket and said, "Unbuck!" Since we don't swim in a lake without life jackets, his choice was made.

Dancing Ghosts

Just for fun, I used a longer shutter speed for these shots to try to get some pictures of dancing "ghosts."

Wedding

My cousin Jeremy got married last night in this gazebo overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful location. The lodge, gazebo and reception area...awesome. The room where we slept? Considerably more rustic than anticipated.

Boys on Parade

A couple pics of the boys from the parade yesterday. Jonathan LOVED getting sprayed with our mister fan. It wasn't that hot but it sure felt like it was. :-)

Happy Fourth of July!

Thomas and Natalie this morning at the 4th of July parade. Tried something new with Photoshop Elements. It was fun experimenting.

Camera Tow

David took our old digital camera to Washington, DC with him last week. When he got home, he left it on the stairs so I could take it up sometime and transfer his pics to the computer. Jonathan saw the camera bag and turned it into a toy. He dragged that thing around for hours on end. Nice that he's so easily pleased. :-)
