Squirrel

Walking past this grassy area, I noticed the squirrel popping up and down from his hiding spot underneath. He'd pop up, chew a little, and pop back down. Pretty neat to watch.

Two Options

I photographed this tulip both ways. Which do you like better?
Vertical?
Or horizontal?

Bug Watching

Jon's a lucky boy to have a Grandpa who's willing and able to get down on the ground to examine a bug with him. And see Barb, I cut Jonathan's hand off. Oops. :-)

Close-ups

No macro lens this day. And no tripod either. Still, think these turned out fairly well.

Pink Flowers

I wish I was as resourceful as Barb. She always finds out the names of the flowers and birds before she posts them. Me? Well, I'm just gonna say that I like the water on both types of pink flowers. :-)

Funny Expressions

Yes, I know the pink azaleas and his orange shirt don't really go together, but I love how Jonathan's expressions change...
from one moment...
to the next. :-)

Museum Water Fun

We took Dale and Wanda to our new museum when they visited. The boys loved showing them all around...especially one of their favorite parts...the water exhibit.

I love these last two. The boys got Dale and Wanda shooting the water guns with them...
and then promptly left them to move onto something else. ;-)

Easter Boys

Took these shots Easter morning before church. Love the first because Jonathan was NOT happy at all to have his pic taken.

But was all too happy to make a silly face at his brother.

Egg Rule

There's a reason the teachers asked for parents to send the eggs already taped. Not everyone did.

Eggs

I got to help hide 80 dozen Easter eggs for Thomas' school party. The hunt was a blast!

Hard Math

Went to check on Thomas one night before I went to bed and found this. He'd created these math problems and put them on his night stand with Post-It notes. It was supposed to be a test/challenge for us. Cute!

Tiger

I chaperoned Thomas' school field trip to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and all the animals were out and active. This tiger is not usually this close. Love it!

Cherry Blossom Close-ups

Up close you can see that the blossoms do have pink in them. Still not as striking as D.C.'s varieties but pretty nonetheless.

Cherry Blossom Views

I also love the yellow forsythia in the background. Reminds me of spring in D.C. except there I remember the cherry blossom varieties being more pink!
Close-ups coming tomorrow. :-)

Fancy Striking

I wasn't really planning on taking either of the shots below. They just struck my fancy as I was walking past.

The trunks of Crape Myrtle Alley. I don't care how hot it is, this summer I am going to go there and photograph them in full bloom!

Flowers

I know Lisa won't like the shadows in this shot, and I might agree with her, but I still think it turned out pretty well.
Pink and White
Purple and Pink

Buddy Dew

I'm getting backed up on my photos so I'm going to have to start posting more than one a day. Hence this odd combination. :-)
Bud
Dew

Close-up

Yes, I know there are shadows. This was in full sun. But I still liked the results. We're going back today and it's cloudy. We'll see what I get without that macro lens. :-)

Backlighting

I enjoyed trying some backlit shots. I think the yellow ones are my favorites. Yours?

My favorite image.

Macro Fun

I loved this lens! These shots were both hand held. For fun thought I'd focus on different areas.

Arboretum Boy

Jonathan had fun running around the Arboretum with Mom while Barb and I took pictures. Every now and then, he'd let us photograph him too.
