Tattoo TV

Jonathan got a Spongebob tattoo on his tummy the other day. He then told me that his tattoo wanted to wanted to watch TV. Silly boy!

Another Tip-Off

The lighting in this gym was pretty good. Was able to get this shot with my 50mm and I like it better than all the ones I took with that 70-200 2.8 lens.

Near the lily pads were a couple logs and other floating things the kids could play on. I had to help him get up on it and he had fun purposely falling off over and over.

Thomas Lily Pads

Thomas had fun trying to get across these lily pads without falling off. You could have held on to a rope ladder above you, but he chose to leap from pad to pad.

Slow Water Fun

After going on those slides with Jonathan about 25 times, I needed a break and took these shots while I was waiting for him at the bottom. These were taken with my little water camera on landscape mode which gave me a fairly slow shutter speed.

There were a lot of fun thinks to do in the kiddie area. Along with that, the lazy river, the wave pool, and two medium slides, Jonathan had a lot of options and was able to be fairly independent...wearing his life jacket of course!

Wave Pool Fun

We had a blast at the Great Wolf Lodge. These shots were taken in the wave pool. Bigger waves than at Hawaiian Falls but not quite as big as at Sea World.

Tip-Off

I rented a really expensive lens one weekend. Took it to Bethany's high school basketball game and Natalie's first grade game. I'm glad I rented it but I do NOT want one. Too heavy and didn't get the exceptional quality photos to match the price.

Thomas and Ronald

Ronald McDonald came to visit at McTeacher night for Thomas school. Fun! Later that night, he came down with strep throat. :-0

Garage Repair

Never could get anyone to return my calls and come fix our garage door opener. So I researched online, figured out the problem myself, and David and I repaired it ourselves. Hah! See the old gear on the right compared to the new on the left? Yeah us!

Baby Hannah

The boys were very sweet meeting baby Hannah, David's cousin's baby.

Museum Fun

In one of the rooms of the museum, the boys got to make their own flying object and see how it did in the wind tunnel. They love it and create another coffee filter plane every time we go.

They love it when they can make it fly out of the tube.

Museum Cuties

Over Christmas break we met friends at the new Museum of Science and History. While we were waiting on one friend to arrive, I snapped this pic of Natalie, Jonathan, and Thomas looking pretty in front of the tree.

Birthday Cake #2

On his actual birthday, we were home alone. His party wasn't until the following weekend so I offered to make cupcakes. He wanted a real cake and helped decorate it. And snack on it. :-)

He's getting good at this blowing out the candles thing.

They were wrestling/hugging on the floor and Grandma's when I snapped this pic.

Bad Auto

It sure is nice to know your camera! I was feeling lazy that morning and put my camera on Auto to take this shot of Grandma and Thomas. Auto was definitely fooled. Thought Barb particularly would enjoy seeing the differences since she's got a new DLSR and is learning how to use it. And my apologies to Grandma for posting a pic of her in her robe. You're still beautiful!
The snow outside totally threw off the meter and completely overexposed the image when I used Auto.

So I put it on Manual, exposed for the background (the snow outside) and voila. Well, except for the glare in Thomas' glasses and the cheesy grin. :-)

BTW, I took this photo because Thomas was giving Grandma the birdhouse he'd gotten for Christmas from my parents. He painted it and took it to Lubbock to show everyone. While there, he decided Grandma would enjoy having it and gave it to her.

Education Building

Actually I'm not sure this is still the Education building, think I might have heard something about a new one being built, but it was when I was there and I spent MANY hours inside. But that's beside the point. I don't like the new colors they put on it. Might look ok when all the lights on campus match, but the colors are too cool for what I consider the Carol of Lights.

This next series of shots were taken at the Carol of Lights at Texas Tech. Nice to go back home, with a tripod, to try to capture it. Can't tell you how many times I walked across this field into those three buildings...particularly the middle one.
