Lego Decorating

I was surprised one night when I went to check on Thomas to see his additions to his bed. He'd taped Lego characters up and down the headboard. Made me smile.

Dress-up Bros.

Thomas and Jonathan enjoy dressing up together too. Thomas helps Jonathan with what he can't do for himself. Very sweet. And tough. ;-)

Museum Cousins

Had a fun afternoon visiting the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History when the boys and Amy were visiting.

Star Wars Palmer

While Palmer and Mason were visiting, Thomas and Palmer had fun dressing up in as many Star Wars costumes as they could. This is either Jango Fett or Boba Fett. I can't remember which.

Broken Branch

The snow was so heavy our poor leaf-laden tree couldn't handle the weight. Many branches splintered like this one.

Chubby Cheeker

Jonathan was "playing" Candyland the other day when he stopped to rest with his hands under his chin. I thought it was incredibly cute and grabbed my camera to snap a pic. Didn't think it could get any cuter...

and then he smiled.

Don't think we lost any branches of this. They're pretty flexible. It sure was drooping though.

Poor Crape Myrtle

Snow was just too heavy! Beautiful but heavy. Lost several branches to it.

Broken Tree

This shot is of my neighbor's tree. She lost about half of it from the weight of the snow. We initially thought we only lost one 6 foot long branch. We were wrong. Ended up losing about 8 branches at least that long. The 6 foot one was the only one that fell out on Thursday. We had to cut the rest out over the weekend.

Addendum: The entire tree was cut down last week. Bummer.

Snow Tree

I like this shot because it shows how clumpy the snow was. Also like the icicle at the bottom of the branch. You can see why so many trees in our area had damage. We lost more than we initially thought. Ended up losing about 8 branches. Will post pics of that in a day or two.

Baby Snowman

Friday morning, Thomas built this baby snowman in the back yard. I was seriously lacking in snowman parts. Had to use raisins for the smile and chocolate cookies for eyes.

Jon Snowball Throw

Love this one of Jonathan trying to throw a snowball at me. It kept sticking to his glove but he didn't get frustrated. Just kept throwing over and over. See my glove on his left hand? I have no idea what happened to his other glove. If I'd known how good the snow was going to be, we'd have all had better snow gear!

Happy Valentine's Day

David and the boys went to buy "groceries" yesterday. That's their usual excuse when they think they're being sneaky buying gifts for various holidays. It's really cute because Thomas loves to "fool" me with his surprises. Mom and Dad had been staying with us because their power was out because of the snow storm and so the boys brought her flowers too. Thomas is holding mine and Jonathan's carrying Mom's.

Snowball Hit

Jonathan asked David over and over to throw snowballs at him. He'd wait and shut his eyes for it to hit him. See it coming about a foot from his face?

Cousin Snow Fun

Amy and the boys were on their way to Lubbock but their flight was cancelled. So they got to spend the night with us and enjoy our snow. They said we have better snow than they do in NY. Wild! When they come back next week, who knows what the weather will be like. It's Texas so it could be shorts! :)

This one's overexposed but I liked their smiles so I'm posting it too.

Tree Helper

My SIL, Amy, was here for our record snowfall. We got 12 inches! She helped me knock some snow off of our tree to try to save it. We only lost a 6 foot branch. Wait till I post the one of our neighbor's tree.

Sleep Reading

I love that Thomas loves to read. I don't mind at all that I have to get onto him for staying up reading an hour each night in his room. And I'm tickled when I find him like this. Falling asleep reading a book. Love it!
