Trick or Treating

Thomas had a lot of fun trick-or-treating with his friends. And I love this picture, except for the fact that his eyes were shut. Oh well.

Big Candy

It's become a tradition for Mom and Dad to buy them big versions of their favorite candy for Halloween. Thomas was so proud of his giant box of Milk Duds that he kept pulling it out of his bag and showing it to strangers when we were trick-or-treating later that night.

Body Language Symphony

I was so tickled when I looked at these photos because they have the exact same body language in both shots. Subconsciously mirroring each other. Matching big grins.
So tickled to be surprising Grandma and Grandpa.

Halloween Night

This is the only trick-or-treating Jonathan did Halloween night. He was running a fever but wanted to come to Grandma and Grandpa's. He put on his costume but wouldn't put on the matching shirt. Here they are about to ring the doorbell.

Boo Done

Bags full of candy? Check. Games played? Check. Tired and hungry? Check. Time to go!

Thomas Boo Game

Thomas enjoyed the games too. He was also really sweet at helping Jonathan on the few games where Jonathan was a little nervous. He's a good big brother.

Jonathan Boo Game

Jonathan had a blast this year playing all the games. He did really well too for the first 30 minutes. Then he decided he was tired of waiting in line for his turn and got really grouchy.

And of course one with Bethany too.

Annual Bench Pic

Thomas and Natalie have gone to Boo at the Zoo together every year since they were Jonathan's age. And every year, we take a picture on this bench. Usually don't have much luck getting all the kids looking at the camera at the same time. When we do, we consider it a successful shot.

Ranger Pumpkin

Thomas had an assignment at school to decorate a pumpkin and write a story about it. Here's what he came up with. The All-Star team in the story was Thomas' t-ball team from June. :-)

Jon the Pumpkin Pitcher

The Texas Rangers were playing against the All-Stars. The All-Stars were winning. The Texas Rangers had tried everything they could. But nothing was working. The Rangers could not get any of the All-Stars out. They scored run after run. And the Texas Rangers were out of pitchers.
To the surprise of the All-Stars, the Texas Rangers put a pumpkin pitcher onto the pitcher’s mound. The All-Stars laughed at the Texas Ranger pumpkin player, whose name was Jon.
Jon kept on saying, “I can pitch for the Texas Rangers!” in his tiny pumpkin voice. But no one listened. They were too busy laughing.

While the first batter was laughing at the pumpkin, Jon struck him out. And then one by one, Jon struck everyone out. No All-Star could hit Jon’s pitches. The laughter stopped.
The Texas Rangers had a really good pitcher. And the Texas Rangers won the game! Jon was the greatest player of all. And no one laughed at him again.

Haystack Boys

We went to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch as we do every year. Learned a lesson...DO NOT go in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Way too many people to be any fun. But we did get two cute pictures. This one was Thomas' request.

Rides!

Know what I love about this one? How Thomas is protecting Jonathan.
Hmmm. Do you think they were having fun? Hard to tell.

Messy Ostrich

Totally tickled Thomas.

Kangaroo

One of the boys said, "Oh look, she has a baby in her pocket!" :-)

Errors?

It might be just me, but I think there are more than one error on this sign at the petting zoo at the fair. What do you think?

Birds of the World

One of the shows we enjoy watching every year is the Birds of the World show. It's entertaining and awesome to watch the variety of birds flying right over your head...expecially the big ones!

State Fair Pumpkin Boys

I couldn't decide which pic I liked better so you get to enjoy both! ;-)

State Fair Pumpkins

I like this shot of the boys and their grandparents at the State Fair. Did I mention how chilly it was that day? The coldest weather we'd ever gone to the State Fair in, and we've been to the fair a LOT.

Sandwich Board Boy

In one of the exhibit halls, there was this board advertising something that I don't remember. Thomas loves getting his picture taken in those kind of things. I took his regular photo with him smiling at me. Then he said, he wanted me to take one that looked like he was eating it. It was a much better photo that way. Don't you agree?

Oprah!

While Dale and Wanda were visiting, we went to the State Fair of Texas. We knew Oprah was filming a show there the following day. To our surprise, she was out there when we were too. She walked within 5 feet of us. Very cool.
Do you know what Jonathan said when he saw the above pic? Cool horse!
We probably crossed paths with Oprah earlier in the day because David and I had noticed the tall policeman on the left and commented on how different he seemed from his fellow officers.
Oprah leaving in her mini motorcade.

Jack-O-Lantern

Dale and Wanda hooked the boys up with quite a few pumpkins when they came to visit. They had a blast making their first jack-o-lantern of the season.

Guitar Hero Boy

The boys were listening to some music the other night. When "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" came on the other night, Jonathan ran and got the Guitar Hero guitar and started rocking out. He's got some nice moves. :-)

He kept raising that knee when he wanted to really rock. Cracked us up!

Fence Love

The boys were using sidewalk chalk on the back porch. Thomas came in after a little while and asked me to come out. This is what they'd done. Although I might not have liked them writing on the fence, I loved what they wrote and therefore had no complaints. Only "aawwws!"

Lefty Artist

Thomas has become pretty good writing with his left hand. Better than I would have done for sure! I think he's drawing Star Wars pictures in this shot.

Ranger Out

Sure they got our player out, but isn't this a great shot to show how the Angels players were backing each other up? And see how the umpires are really focused on the play? I love it.

Ranger Pitch

We were so far out in the outfield that this is the best I could do with my lens. Should have thought to bring my longest zoom lens. Oh well. Still like that you can see the ball halfway between the pitcher's mound and home plate.

Jon Hug

Jonathan had a great time too. He sat with Mom and ate about a thousand peanuts.
