Score!

Thomas scoring his first run on Saturday. Love the big smile on his face.

Rose

Before I realized they were blooming, our climbing rose bush in the back yard is already past peak.

Listening

Listening to Coach Joe after the game. Dodgers won 15-13. Woo hoo!

Out!

Here's an out in progress. Derrick nabbed the ball after it was hit, then tossed it to Dayton at home for the out. Pretty good play for this age.

First Base

Trying to be a little artistic. I wanted to try a low camera angle during the game today but wasn't willing to embarrass myself by lying on the ground to compose the shot in front of the other parents so I just held the camera down and snapped. :-)

Bluebonnets

I've already stated that this just isn't a very good year. Maybe next year...

Bluebonnet Jonathan

And now two pics for your viewing pleasure of Jonathan in the bluebonnets. Doesn't he look like he's conducting an orchestra in the bottom pic? Mini August Rush. Boy I sure have gotten a lot of mileage out of that one photo session huh? You'll probably get to see more bluebonnets tomorrow too. ;-)

Bluebonnet Thomas

Two pics for your viewing pleasure. Thomas in the bluebonnets wearing his cool pirate hat.

Hard Work

It is VERY hard getting a good picture of both boys in the bluebonnets. Here are a few attempts. BTW, these are all manual photos. I'd tried the day before just on Program or Auto because I was lazy and in a hurry and they were way overexposed. Like bad high key shots which I definitely didn't want for bluebonnets. I wanted deep saturated colors in the flowers. For these, I used Manual mode and my external flash since we were in bright sunlight.

Which Crop Is Better?

Same photopraph. Two different ways to crop. Which one tells a better story?

Bluebonnet Boy

It's just not a good year for bluebonnets. Only small patches here and there. Here's my best effort with Jonathan yesterday at the ranch. Don't know if I'll be able to get a good one of the two of them together. Time is running out.

Spinning Wheel

We went to the Shaw Kemp Ranch open house today in Weatherford. Thomas got to try his hand at spinning.

Wait!

Thomas was riding down the lane on his bike when Jonathan squealed at him to wait up. And being the good brother that he is, he did.

Puppy Love

Natalie's puppy, Tess, and Jonathan love each other. Tess shows her affection by licking his face which he doesn't usually like but he still loves her. This is the face he makes when she's headed his way.

Bicycles

Took this pic of the kids' bikes at the park today. Ready and waiting for more adventures.

Fancy Footwork

Thomas played goalie one quarter on Saturday. Our team was way better than the other team and spent 98% of the time in front of their goal. Thomas spent his time practicing what he'd do if they came his way...fancy steps that boy has.

Small, Medium, and Large

Small kid, big ball, and HUGE new 60 inch TV. And the 15 month old is doing a big no-no: throwing his new ball at the new TV. As an added bonus, if you have discerning eyes, which I know you do Lisa, notice something extra small? Something 5 year old boys need to play baseball and somehow leave lying on the floor for days at a time? :-)

More Tulips

Boy am I lazy. I'm trotting out this old pic from 2 weeks ago. :-)

Baby Tomatoes

All of Thomas' love and attention seems to be paying off. We've got 6-10 baby tomatoes growing on our plant. If they actually make it, we might have to eat them. Jonathan is the only one of us who likes them, but I'm sure they taste better if you grow them yourself. :-)

Which Is Better?

Which shot tells a better story? I think I like the first one. These are of Jonathan at the zoo watching the otter swim.

Lucky Duck

We were playing at the park during Thomas' t-ball practice last Friday and to Jonathan's great joy, these three ducks came walking by. Jonathan followed them all the way to the water and got mad when I stopped him at the water's edge.

Motorcycle Envy

After Thomas' soccer game on Saturday, we were playing at the park playground when this man came up on a motorcycle. Jonathan was enthralled.

Soccer

Thomas got to do the kickoff at the start of one of the quarters. He also played a lot more aggressively this time and that's no camera trickery, he's about to kick the ball! :-)

Dodgers Postgame

Coach Joe talking to the Dodgers after the game, which we won 13-7. I like the back of their hats with their names and numbers on them.

Spiders and Tigers

It's late and I'm tired and lazy so I'm posting another pic from Tuesday. Thomas and Corbin, big brother to the twins from yesterday's post. Still like the close-up of the detail in Thomas' face. Can you believe the artist painted that in about 2 minutes?

Painted Faces

Everyone but Jonathan got their face painted yesterday at the arboretum. Thomas: tiger. Natalie: heart design. Cole, Corbin, Dayton: Spidermen. Cooper: pig. And all for free.

Flowers

Two flower pics from today. I'm partial to the tulips since they're my favorite flower but I also liked the daffodil with the azaleas in the background. I tried shooting the tulips from a lower angle for variety. What do you think?
